Mary Barton and Alis Woods have been busy collaboratively designing a Highland Crafters fairisle accessory range since April of this year.  Mary an expert hand knitter has spent endless hours problem solving the making of these designs.  Mary has an exquisite eye for detail and every stitch and detail is knitted and finished to perfection.  She also blocks the pieces using a traditional towel rolling finishing method.  Mary and Alis have made every effort to adhere to traditional methods from the fairisle pattern to the wool, to the hand knitting to the finishing.

Lovely Kathleen modeling at Coul House in Contin

A fairisle cardigan influenced by classical vintage design and stylised for the elegant and sophisticated woman.  We aim to offer a timeless look that is both modern and ageless, suiting a variety of age groups and looks.

Our lovely model Kathleen a local from the Highlands models the hat scarf and gloves as a set.  Alis and Kathleen spent a glorious afternoon at the beautiful Coul house in Contin photographing the range.

Kathleen modelling the individual pieces.

The range includes a unisex hat, glove and scarf set that can be worn together or as individual pieces.

A woman visiting the Ross-shire area on business very kindly bought us a glass of Champaign.  She was truly amazed to see such lovely pieces made by ladies within our communities.  The talent that is out there is fantastic and Highland Crafters aims to promote it. She wanted to wish the enterprise every success and she considered it a worthwhile cause.

A very generous lady bought us both a glass of champagne. How very generous of her.

This beautiful range of fairisle products are soon to be made available as made to order on the Highland Crafters website.  A selection of pattern kits will also be available for crafters that aspire to make the designs themselves.

Please contact James or Alison at Highland Crafters for further information.
